For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved to read and write. I used to wake up in the mornings before school to write in my journal, because I thought that was a literary thing to do. Then, I’d get home from school and read until I fell asleep or my mom hid my books from me.
I’ve followed that passion to jobs at the San Anselmo Public Library, the Brown Writing Center, and as a freelance writer and editor. My passion for education has led me to jobs in community programming for the Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology, high school sex education, and as a teacher at the Brown/Fox Point Early Childhood Education Center. Now, as a tutor, it is my mission to deliver high-quality, empowering instruction to any student who wants it.
A note about fees
I believe that means should not determine anyone’s education access (though it too often does, especially for personal tutoring services). I work on a sliding scale fee model, which is intended to allow access to anyone who wants to work with me. If you know someone who would benefit from my services, please contact me. I have never said no to working with a student, regardless of ability to pay.
Please let me know the hourly rate you’re able to pay.
$150/hour is the amount that allows me to sustain my business. More than that increases my ability to offer free and subsidized lessons. 1/5 of my weekly students are on a full scholarship, and many more than that pay a substantially reduced rate due to financial need.
